Assistant Golf Professional, Tournament & Group Coordinator

Jim is responsible for all outside group play, including both corporate groups visiting the hotel and large shotgun events. Jim is a Level One TPI-Certified Golf Instructor (Titleist Performance Institute), and has made a practice of studying the Body-Swing Connection and works with both physical therapists and fitness instructors to help golfers reach their potential. His teaching philosophy includes the idea that every “body” is different, so every swing will be different – he just needs to find the most efficient and repeatable motion for each individual.
Prior to joining The Inverness, Jim worked at West Woods Golf Course in Arvada, where he was the Player Development Coordinator, overseeing one of the largest “Get Golf Ready” programs in the state.
Jim’s dad put a sawed-off club in his hands when he was about 5 years old, and he played Varsity golf in high school. Originally from the Chicago area, he has a Master’s degree in Advertising Research from the University of Illinois. After graduating, he worked for several years doing market research for Anheuser-Busch and other major corporations before moving to Colorado in 1989 to pursue a music career, based in the Vail Valley. He released two CDs of original music and traveled the country performing for the next 20 years. The Great Recession pushed him out of that career and into his other great passion – golf!
